As Joint Director (Research and Training)  of the Dept. of Environment, Govt. of Tamilnadu, I was instrumental in starting ENVIS Centre for Biodiversity and Water Pollution, Preparation and release of first report on State of Environment Tamilnadu, Publication of District Environmental Profiles, Starting of National Green Corps Movement, and  Wetland Conservation Project; assessed various Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports for issuing approval for various industries; attended Public Hearings for environmental clearance for the start of various projects such as East Coast Road Project and Plastic Industries as Government Nominee involved in Biomedical Waste Management activities and Coastal Zone Management activities.
