Identification of low molecular weight aromatic compounds from the lignin
degraded by Bacillus sp. using Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrum

Sixteen bacterial strains were isolated from agricultural waste residues dumped soil sample. Out of the 16 isolates obtained
through nutrient enrichment techniques one potential aerobic bacterial strain was capable of using all lignin preparations,
which was identified as Bacillus sp. Bacillus sp decolourized lignin to a maximum level in 6 days.
