Isolation, purification and characterization of high sensitive C-Reactive
protein (hsCRP) from Lipemic serum samples

Abstract :

The present study is to improve the understanding of spider population in different crop seasons viz., Kuruvai and Thaladi at different crop stages of paddy and their density and diversity in the paddy fields (Oriza sataiva L.) of Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu, India. The study was carried out from April 2007 to March 2010 in two seasons viz., Kuruvai (June to September) and Thaladi (November to February). The surveys were carried out in an area of 33 cent (1335 m²), six random plots (1x1m) were selected in different locations of each field and sampling was done on fortnightly basis. The densities of spiders in two crop seasons and different stages of the paddy were calculated as number /cent. Twenty four species of spiders were recorded in both crop seasons. Two species of spiders viz., Araneus inustus and Atypena formosana were recorded in all the crop stages of both the Kuruvai and Thaladi seasons. Pardosa pseudoannulata was the predominant species in the seedling stage and Argiope catenulata was in the ripened stage of the both Kuruvai and Thaladi crops. The densities of all the spider species except A. inustus and Oxyopes javanus had a significant crop stage-wise variations in the paddy fields of the present study area (ANOVA; p<0.05). The diversity indices varied between crop seasons and crop stages. Bray-Curtis similarity co-efficient in the spider species composition were also analyzed and the result indicated that the highest similarity was recorded between transplantation and tillering stage. The multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) and cluster analysis showed that there were similarities in the assemblages of spider species in the seedling and flowering stages in the paddy fields. Although a significant influence of crop characteristics on the spider community, they were present in all stages of the crop in varied composition indicated that spiders act as important arthropod predators in the paddy fields.
