An African Epigeic Earthworm, Eudrilus eugeniae was used for the decomposition leaf litter of Cassia auriculata Linn. for
the production of vermicompost of high quality in terms of macro and micro nutrients and microbial colonies. The
vermicompost so obtained increased the growth and yield of Vigna unguiculata (cowpea) significantly.
