Soil plays an important role in the global carbon cycle. It acts as both sink and source of carbon in the atmosphere depending
on the land use system. The objective of the present study is to estimate the amount of carbon that can be sequestered in the
forest soils of Ukhrul district in Manipur, North-east India.
