Fingerprint Classification Using Least Square Orientation and Quick Propagation Algorithms

Abstract :

Fuel cell is a clean and efficient way of producing electric power from chemical energy. It complements heat engines and reduces the dependence on fossil fuels and thus has significant environmental implications. Among the various types of fuel cell, proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is considered as a great alternative for distributed energy sources. In this paper, a mathematical model of a 750 W PEM fuel cell is developed. This model depicts the behaviour of PEMFC under static and dynamic load conditions. The static models are useful in sizing components, whereas the dynamic models are used to study the response time on load changes. An open circuit output voltage of the PEM fuel cell, voltage losses, formation of charge double layer and thermodynamic energy balance in the PEMFC system are modeled. The V-I characteristics of the fuel cell are obtained for different values of the input parameters. The transient response of the PEM fuel cell model is analyzed for step change in load. The proposed model is simulated in MATLAB, validated, and is used for the integration of fuel cells into distribution power systems.
