Bioabsorption of heavy metals of sewage waste water using Eichhornia sp.
and anatomical study of affected plant parts

Degradations of 100% untreated and treated sewage waste water using water hyacinth - Eichhornia sp were investigated.
All the physico-chemical parameters of the sewage waters reached permissible levels after treatment with the water
hyacinth. Anatomical studies revealed physical changes in different parts of Eichhornia sp. after bioabsorption. The
bioabsorption of zinc is more than copper and accumulation of heavy metals in leaves is more followed by petiole and
roots.
